Peel Regional Growth and Major Projects Conference

Last week, our CEO Dr Guy Boggs and Communications Officer Ben Hamilton attended the Peel Regional Growth and Major Projects Conference at the Mandurah Performing Arts and Events Centre.

Guy presented a fantastic ‘Transformations in mining economies: What we know so far’ presentation to Peel Region stakeholders, such as state government agencies, local businesses, mining companies and investors.

There were many great presentations held over the two days. Our takeaways were:

  • The Peel Region will see a significant increase in population growth over the next 20 – 30 years. The region will invest in upgrading existing and building new infrastructure to match this growth.
  • The major infrastructure they are currently developing is the Peel Business Park, The Food Innovation Precinct, and the upgrade and transfer of Ramsay Health Care into a State Government operated building. There are also plans for renewable energy, such as solar panel microgrids and wind turbine-generated energy.
  • Mandurah aspires to be Western Australia’s lifestyle capital, offering a diverse lifestyle and peri-urban living.
  • They will upgrade and build new infrastructure with a zero-carbon frame of mind.

The conference was informative and provided a fantastic opportunity to meet with diverse stakeholders and discuss future regional growth and investment strategies.

We would like to thank the Peel Development Commission and Informa Connect for hosting such a great event.
