Mine Closure 2024 will be held in Perth, Western Australia from 26-28 November 2024. Proudly sponsored by BHP, this annual conference is a must-do event on the calendar of many mine closure professionals.

Attracting high calibre industry practitioners and academics, this conference unveils high quality presentations and case studies on pressing issues and themes topical to the mine closure community globally.

With co-chair university professors Andy Fourie, (Professor of Civil and Mining Engineering and Program Director – Future Tails, University of Western Australia) and Mark Tibbett (Professor of Soil Ecology, University of Reading, UK), the conference will provide a platform for them to ensure the latest methodologies and research in the mine closure space are presented.

Themes

Mine Closure 2024 will see us align our conference themes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework. These goals map closely to what good mine closure should aim for as an outcome.
