A core organisational principle for the CRC is to bring stakeholders together who share the same geography. With a shared sense of place, dialogue between stakeholders with widely differing perspectives can occur, facilitated through the CRC. Seven hubs have been initially identified for development and will enable investment priorities to be focused on issues that bring stakeholders together, rather than driving them apart. Two-way knowledge sharing and a focus on translation will also ensure research findings are readily useable and able to be integrated into regional closure planning and decision making processes.
