The session will explore:
- data-driven decision-making, AI and innovation systems in the context of structural change.
- ways of designing effective growth paths, taking into account demographic shifts, industrial diversification and environmental remediation of coal mines.
- tools and strategies, including policy interventions.
Dr Friedrich Dornbusch, Head of Regional Transformation and Innovation Policy and Fraunhofer ISI Leipzig, will present the session. He will be joined by colleague Dr Benjamin Klement.
Regional development leader Chris Buckingham will contextualise for Australia and, in particular, the Latrobe Valley region.
