CRC TiME Native Seeds Workshop

Download the Program

Join us to gain the latest insights on projects working to address the native seed challenge in the mining industry – and help shape our next tranche of collaborative research.

The full day workshop involves two parts:

  • The morning session will focus on current CRC TiME and partner projects, including research on climate-adapted seed sourcing strategies and scaling strategies.
  • The afternoon session will involve facilitated sessions around key questions to design our next tranche projects to improve seed supply chains, application and sustainable and provide education and training.

The workshop agenda will be available in early April. Numbers are limited, so please RSVP by 9 April.

BACKGROUND

Why we’re focused on meeting the native seed challenge

Making land available for post-mine use – whether for native habitat, agriculture or other purposes – usually depends on rehabilitation. Yet, chronic shortages in the quality, quantity and diversity of native seeds challenge successful rehabilitation.

CRC TIME research projects aim to understand how to better source and select seeds, test for their quality, and identify the best seeding conditions and processes, to inform practices and improve rehabilitation outcomes.
