Welcome to Tanya Sewter, who has recently joined the CRC TiME First Nations Advisory Team.
Tanya is a proud Aboriginal woman from Mornington Island (Lardil (Lar-dill) people) in the Gulf of Carpentaria with cultural connections to the Waanyi (Warn-yee)/Gangalidda (Gun-ga-lee-da) people of northwest Queensland. Tanya is one of nine in her family and grew up playing sports, in particular touch footy and basketball. Living and growing up in and around First Nations communities, being immersed in her community and culture has enhanced Tanya’s professional roles.
Tanya’s formal qualifications are in Human Resources and Psychology, and as a HR professional with over 15 years’ experience specialising in First Nations employment and engagement, fuelled Tanya’s passion enabling her to successfully lead, manage and deliver on cultural commitments for various organisations and industries.
Tanya has a consistent track record in supporting First Nations communities to identify and address many of the barriers that impede their access and participation to employment, training, and service outcomes. Tania is excited to bring that passion and expertise to this role.
