Dig Deeper Webinar – A systematic approach to Regional Cumulative Effects Assessment – Stage 1

Join our webinar to explore how intersecting factors shape policy, with insights from case study analysis.

Join Dr Jenny Pope and Dr Renee Young for an insightful webinar exploring why and how regional cumulative effects assessment and management (RCEAM) can inform planning and decision-making for mine closure and transition at the regional scale.

This session will dive into findings from stage 1 of an innovative project based on analysis of case studies from Australia and Canada. You will hear about:

  • what RCEAM is, who might do it, and why?
  • how RCEAM can be done, including regional definitions, stakeholder engagement, tools and methods, and governance arrangements
  • the application of RCEAM to mine closure planning
  • the emergence of Indigenous-led RCEAM in Canada

We will also outline the scope, approach and deliverables of Stage 2, which is now underway.
