Join Dr Jenny Pope and Dr Renee Young for an insightful webinar exploring why and how regional cumulative effects assessment and management (RCEAM) can inform planning and decision-making for mine closure and transition at the regional scale.
This session will dive into findings from stage 1 of an innovative project based on analysis of case studies from Australia and Canada. You will hear about:
- what RCEAM is, who might do it, and why?
- how RCEAM can be done, including regional definitions, stakeholder engagement, tools and methods, and governance arrangements
- the application of RCEAM to mine closure planning
- the emergence of Indigenous-led RCEAM in Canada
We will also outline the scope, approach and deliverables of Stage 2, which is now underway.
